Questions & Answers

A plain-language guide to the purpose and scope of SOAR.

Is SOAR a political party or campaign?

No. The statement is a civic document centered on equal citizenship, constitutional government, reciprocal liberty, peaceful political competition, and human dignity.

Does supporting SOAR require agreeing on every policy?

No. The statement explicitly allows disagreement over the size of government, taxes, regulation, public services, immigration, and how political power should be organized. Those disagreements are part of democracy. What cannot be accepted is the permanent transfer of power away from the people themselves.

Why revisit the language of 1776?

Because the statement treats the original principles of liberty and self-government as unfinished rather than exhausted.

Why include an interpretation section?

Because isolated phrases can be used in ways that contradict the document as a whole. Section XIII asks readers to interpret the statement through equal dignity, equal rights, constitutional government, peaceful political competition, and shared citizenship.
